In accordance with the work A Dictionary of Law, this is a description of Aggravated Damages : Damages (*damages) that are awarded when the conduct of the defendant or the surrounding circumstances increase the injury to the claimant by subjecting him to humiliation, distress, or embarrassment, particularly in such torts as assault, false imprisonment, and defamation.
