Definition of Child in Care
In accordance with the work A Dictionary of Law, this is a description of Child in Care : A child who is the subject of a *care order. It is important to note that not all children who are being looked after by a local authority are the subjects of care orders; some of these children may be being accommodated by the local authority on a voluntary basis (See voluntary accommodation).
