After the Conservatives failed to gain enough seats on May 6, 2010, to form a government on their own, they formed a coalition government with the Liberal Democrats on May 11, 2010. It was the first time that Britain had experienced a coalition government since Winston Churchill’s war ministry, which ended in 1945.

Based on our current projections, there is about a 90 percent probability that no single party will have enough seats for a majority government. That means the party with the most seats will need to form a coalition or try to rule as a minority government.
