In accordance with the work A Dictionary of Law, this is a description of Contingency Fee : Payment to a lawyer only if the case is won. Contingency fees are illegal in the UK but common in other countries, such as the United States. However, *conditional fee agreements are permitted for certain limited categories of cases.
