Definition of Costs Officer
In accordance with the work A Dictionary of Law, this is a description of Costs Officer : The judge or officer of the court who determines the amount of costs payable in a detailed *assessment of costs. The costs officer may be a costs judge (an official of the Supreme Court, formerly known as a taxing master), a district judge, or an authorized officer of a county court, a district registry, the Principal Registry of the Family Division, or the Supreme Court Costs Office.
