Definition of Drago Doctrine

In accordance with the work A Dictionary of Law, this is a description of Drago Doctrine : The doctrine that states cannot employ force in order to recover debts incurred by other states. Thus the fact that a state has defaulted on Its debt to aliens or to another state does not legalize the use of military intervention by these creditors in order to reclaim monies they are owed.
