Definition of Due Diligence

In accordance with the work A Dictionary of Law, this is a description of Due Diligence : The legal obligation of states to exercise all reasonable efforts to protect *aliens and their property in the host state. Such aliens must have been permitted entry into the host state. If there is a failure or lack of due diligence, the state in default is held responsible and liable to make compensation for injury to the alien or to the alien’s estate.
