Habeas Corpora

Habeas Corpora

English Law: Habeas Corpora in the Past

A writ issued out of the C. P. commending the sheriff (see law enforcement in the U.K. encyclopedia) to compel the appearance of a jury in the cause between the parties. It answers the same purpose in that court as the Distringas juratores answers in the K. B. For a form, see Bootes Suit at Law, 151. [1][rtbs name=”history-of-english-law”]
