High Court of Parliament in United Kingdom
(Source: the University of South Caroline Gould School of Law) The judicial role of parliament is based on the thirty-ninth clause of the Great Charter, which specified that a peer of the realm, if indicted for treason or felony, must be tried by his peers in parliament, rather than by royal judges.
