Description of Minority government published by Mona Chalabi: When no party, or coalition of parties, has the 326 seats required to form a majority government, there might be a minority government. If a minority government can’t get the support of other parties in the House of Commons to get legislation passed, it can be ousted by a vote of no confidence (see below). Given that there is currently about a 90 percent probability that no party will have enough seats to form a majority government after this election, it looks likely that the next five years of government in the United Kingdom will either be a Conservative minority government, a Labour minority government or some coalition of one of those parties and the others.
