Naming of a Member Meaning, as used in the UK Parliament
Naming of a Member is the term used to describe the disciplining of an Member of Parliament for breaking the rules of the House of Commons. The only time names are used in the House of Commons chamber are when the Speaker calls Members of the Parliament to speak or disciplines them. Suspension of a Member who has been named is set out in Standing Order 44.
