Northern Ireland Judicial Appointments Commission (NIJAC) in North Ireland

Established in June 2005, NIJAC selects, recommends and appoints applicants for judicial office in Northern Ireland. It does so, on merit, through fair and open competition and by selecting from the widest possible range of eligible applicants.

It is an Executive Non-Departmental Public Body (NDPB) which has responsibility for ensuring that the statutory purposes of the organisation are being fulfilled and that the use of resources by it as a public body is appropriate and effective.
