Patrick Arthur Devlin (1905-1992), British judge and commentator on the English legal system. He was justice of the High Court in the Queen’s Bench Division from 1948 to 1960, Lord Justice of Appeal from 1960 to 1961, and Lord of Appeal in Ordinary from 1961 to 1964. He was knighted in 1948 and made a baron in 1961.” (1)
