Sir Samuel Hoare History

Conservative politician who served in government between 1922 and 1944. Best remembered for the secret Hoare-Laval Pact, a 1935 agreement between the United Kingdom and France giving Italy two thirds of Abyssinia following their invasion. It was widely denounced as appeasement and led to his resignation.
