Definition of Defective Equipment

In accordance with the work A Dictionary of Law, this is a description of Defective Equipment : An employer’s duty to provide his employees with a safe system of work, so far as is reasonably practicable, includes the provision and maintenance of safe tools and equipment (including materials) for the job. The employer is liable to an employee injured by a defect in the equipment he provides, even if the defect was due to the fault of some third party, such as the manufacturer of the equipment.
