Definition of Disclosure of Interest
In accordance with the work A Dictionary of Law, this is a description of Disclosure of Interest : The duty of local authority members to disclose (at the time or by prior notice to the authority) any pecuniary interest they or their spouses have in any matter discussed at a local authority meeting. They must also abstain from speaking and voting on it. Breach of the duty is a criminal offence.
