Definition of Fair Dismissal
In accordance with the work A Dictionary of Law, this is a description of Fair Dismissal : Dismissal (*dismissal) of an employee when a tribunal decides that an employer has acted reasonably in dismissing the employee and that the dismissal was for a lawful reason, i.e. on the grounds of the employee’s capability, qualifications, or conduct; redundancy; the fact that it would be illegal to continue employing the employee: or some other sufficient and substantial reason.
