Family Court in United Kingdom
The single Family Court was launched on 22 April 2014 and brought judges and magistrates
together in a single jurisdiction for the first time. There are dedicated points of entry for
applications, a single and consistent allocation process and unified administration teams. The
single jurisdiction has also enabled the HM Courts & Tribunals Service to establish specialist divorce centres using legal advisers to assist District Judges in handling uncontested divorce cases.
