To Dispone

To Dispone

Scottish Law: To Dispone in the Past

This is a technical word, which implies, it is said, a transfer of feudal property (see more about this popular legal topic in the U.K. encyclopedia) by a particular deed and is not equal or similar to the term alienate; but Lord Eldon says, “with respect to the word dispone, if I collect the opinions of a majority of the judgcs rightly, I am of opinion that the word dispone would have the same effect as the word alienate.) (see this concept in the corresponding entry on this reference) Sandford on Entails, 179, note. [1][rtbs name=”scottish-law”]
