Definition of Deferred Sentence
In accordance with the work A Dictionary of Law, this is a description of Deferred Sentence : A *sentence imposed by a magistrates’ court or the Crown Court after a period of up to six months from conviction for the offence. The court may postpone sentencing, if the convicted person agrees, if it wishes to assess any change in the offender’s conduct or circumstances during that time.
